Is it safe to take asthma medication while pregnant?

Sweets asked:

My husband and I are seriously considering having a baby. Only thing is, I have chronic asthma that requires me to use two types of inhalers a day. I want to be able to have a healthy baby but at the same time, climbing the stairs is a challenge for me now, plus if you add babay weight to that it could be extremely difficult for me.

I would talk to your pulmonary physician and OB/GYN about this … I attend a few deliveries a year with moderate asthmatics …. and they do well … but due to hormonal changes … sometimes … I said sometimes … this can make breathing tougher …

I have asthmatics that continue on their regimens …. with no changes …. talk to your physicians first ….

I don’t think so because it might effect the child well you can confirm with your doctor.
