Is it normal for asthma meds to make your lungs extra-sensitive?

Luke asked:

My asthma meds make my lungs more sensitive for an hour or so after taking them, and they feel more sore and initially weird, like you can feel the medicine in your chest.

Is that normal and totally nothing to worry about? Is that just a sign of it all working?

I don’t know what to really make of it.

Thanks!

Carrie

Can breathing in second hand smoke cause asthma?

runner24 asked:

My father smokes in the garage and the lingering effects of the smoke get inside, and sometimes I have to breath it in. Could this cause asthma or pose any other health risks? I am also a very good track/cross country runner and was wondering if this could effect my performance.

Is it true that taking asthma medicine increases severe asthma risk?

Erik G asked:

I was watching a TV ad that certain brands of asthma medicine, including Advair, could increase the risk of severe (and most likely fatal) asthma risk. Is that true?
